A Brief
History Of Reehorst Cleaners
Reehorst Cleaners was established by Ed
and Oda Reehorst in 1936, in a small store on Detroit Road in Rocky
River, Ohio. Their sons, Owen and Newt, soon joined their parents. The
business prospered as customers found the family was dedicated to
personalized, quality service.
Under the guidance of Owen and Newt, the business flourished and
realized significant growth in the 1950's and I960's. Two more
plants, North Olmsted and Bay Village were opened during this period.
Home delivery routes were also established.
Owen's son, Dan joined the company in 196I, and Newt's son Bob in
1973. Dan and Bob, the third generation involved in the business,
are now co-owners of Reehorst Cleaners. They have expanded service by
opening an additional location in Westlake. They employ
approximately 65 dedicated and well trained people. Dan and Bob also
continue the tradition established by their parents and grandparents,
of striving to achieve complete customer satisfaction.
The growth of the company over these generations has been enhanced by
many loyal employees who have been dedicated to offering quality
and service and have been proud to be part of the Reehorst Tradition.
