Feature – Focus on Picnics
Definition: picnic - A meal eaten outdoors, as on an excursion.
Grab some fun food, drinks and a cooler and find one of the many picnic
pavilions in our area. The MetroParks have picnic and play areas and each
of our cities has a central park with areas set aside for families and food.
We are lucky to live on the South shore of Lake Erie - it gives us plenty of
opportunities to picnic, walk on the beach, and enjoy watching fireworks from
the various communities. These types of activities energize us - and relax
us at the same time. So grab your family and go out and enjoy the
sunshine. And if you get grease from the fried chicken, or mustard from
that grilled hot dog on your favorite shirt or shorts, bring it to your
neighborhood Reehorst location and we'll return it looking like new!

know you clean American Flags at no charge, but do you know what I can do with
my tattered flag?
A.
Each
Flag Day, (June 14th), the American Legion Post 211 in Avon Lake has a
dignified flag burning ceremony. They have an old mailbox in the
front of their hall, where tattered and unusable American flags can be
deposited all year long. The American Legion Post 211 is located at
31972 Walker Road, in Avon Lake, OH.
