 Quick diet tips are everywhere:

1. Write down everything you eat. That way, you'll think twice before the dessert tray is passed to you.

2. Weigh yourself once a week at approximately the same time.

3. Don't shop when you're hungry. Try to shop the outside edges of the food store - fresh fruits and veggies, chicken, dairy products.

4. Check with your doctor before starting a strenuous exercise program.

5. Serve your meals on a pretty, small plate - optical illusion!

A Weighty Problem

  In doing research for this topic, I put "weight loss" into a Google search page and came up with over 20 million entries!  Here's just a few points:

• Choose an obtainable goal. To look like a super model probably isn't realistic. And to lose 10 pounds in one week may not be healthy. Slow and easy does it.

• Create a winning plan.  Successful endeavors start with a written plan outlining the end results and how to achieve them.

• Make smaller goals - and celebrate your victories!  Reward yourself (non-food reward) when you exercise for 30 minutes a day for one week or when you lose 5 pounds.

• Enlist help from family and friends.  Get a walking buddy - it's harder to just sit around if your friend is counting on you to walk.

• Enjoy the compliments that will come.
   

                                                                                                     So now that you've lost the weight, your clothes don't fit.  We can help!  Our Seamstresses are skilled in both repairs and alterations.  We can lengthen, shorten, take in, let out, move buttons, replace zippers, cuff pants, uncuff pants, add pleats, etc.  We know clothing, and appreciate quality workmanship as much as you do.
   Remember, when changing the length on a garment (shirts, dresses, slacks) measure them while wearing the shoes you will wear them with.  If you don't, chances are the garment will be the wrong length.

Q. We're going on a 14 day cruise next month.  How do I clean my swim suit and lingerie?
