Feature – Focus on Ohio Gifts for the Holidays
Ohio - not only home to the Buckeyes, but also Great Lakes Brewery, Amish
Country, Malley's Candies, American Greetings, Marc's, and many more locally
owned/grown small businesses.
So this gift-giving season, why not
patronize a local merchant. Gift Cards/Certificates make great stocking
stuffers. And many small businesses make special 'packages' just for the
Holidays.
Or give a gift with a 'local' flavor -
just put 'Cleveland' into the search bar on Art.com and you'll
find art prints of the Stadium, the lighthouse, sailboats on Lake Erie, and lots
more. See the left sidebar for more links.
Ask the Experts
Q.
How does one clean tree
skirts?
A.
Christmas tree skirts are
often valuable and treasured holiday items. Some of them are very
costly, while others may be family heirlooms. Generally, tree skirts
can't be laundered or dry cleaned because they are embellished with designs,
colorful prints, felt, delicate lace, appliqués, beads, sequins, and other
decorative trims. These trims may be attached to the fabrics with glues
and adhesives that break down during cleaning.
If you spill liquids on the skirt, take a clean white handkerchief, cotton
towel or paper towel and blot the area. Cool water might help to remove
the spills. Localized stain removal techniques may be the only safe
method for handling tree skirts. Sometimes, stains can't be removed
without damage. Bring the tree skirt to us if you have any questions.
