Save Five Dollars During December

Save money by bringing in 5 pieces of drycleaning

For the month of December, have 5 dry cleaning pieces cleaned at the same time and receive $5.00 off your total invoice.  Enjoy the fresh, clean, and pressed look and pocket the savings.  Our Sanitone premium dry cleaning process simply brings out the best in clothes - because you're worth it!  Like a fine salon shampoo/conditioner, the Sanitone cleaning process helps clothes look their best and stay that way longer.

Take advantage of the savings for the month of December.

Focus on All Dressed Up

The holidays are upon us!  Now's the time to try on all your special occasion clothing.  Here are some easy-to-implement tips for storing and making the best use of all your special occasion clothes:

  • Have a separate closet for the special occasion clothes or hang them in a zippered garment bag in the back of your closet. Makes it easier to located them when needed.

  • Store holiday accessories together.  Use stackable storage chests to protect and organize dressy shoes, evening bags, fancy hose, shawls and special jewelry.

  • Invest in quality pieces that will provide years of holiday and special occasion wear.  Silks, chiffons, beads and many vintage pieces can be worn in many seasons and can be mixed and matched for optimum use.

No matter the season, the key to dressing well is not necessarily having a closet full of clothes.  It's more about knowing how to dress your wardrobe basics up and down in a way that is appropriate and makes you feel confident no matter where you go.

Ask the Experts

Q. When I left voting last month, I put my "I Voted" sticker on my suede coat. What a mistake! (the sticker, not the voting). Now the sticky residue is left.  And "Hello - My Name Is..." sticker season is coming up this month.  What do I do???

A. We cannot offer a fool-proof home remedy for this situation.  Denatured alcohol would dry the suede skin, any kind of oil or grease based product would leave a dark stain.  Besides, most of the problem is that w=hen the sticker is pulled off the jacket. the suede nap, which is the roughed-up surface of the inside of a piece of soft skin, is pulled off with the sticker.  There is no remedy for that - the nap is gone forever! Then, because the skins are usually dyed a color other than natural pig or cow, (whatever that looks like!?), you have the color loss issue that can be caused by any solvent.  Even professional leather specialists have difficulty successfully removing those nasty labels and restoring color.  I would only recommend two things: 1. if somebody comes at your suede or leather, (or silk) jacket or blouse with one of the labels, run the other way; 2. If you are unlucky enough to get one stuck on your clothing, bring it immediately to a leather or us, your clothing professional.

Cruising.....

And Before I Close.....

Christmas decorating will go smoothly this year - last year we took the time to take pictures of all our displayed decorations.  Now when my husband takes the snow family out of the box, he'll know right where to put it!
