Are Your Comforters Claustrophobic?

If you store your comforters and blankets in the plastic bags they come home from the cleaners in, you are not letting them breathe. All fabrics need to “breathe”, or have air circulate through and around them. If you store fabric items in plastic after they have been cleaned, you not only store the item, you also store the trapped humidity, pollutants and other not-so-nice acidic aspects (high volume traffic exhaust and near-the-airport-fall-out), of our big city air quality.  These items need to breathe to stay fresh. Airflow extends the life of  fabric by allowing it to release trapped air-borne contaminates and maintain relative humidity. This is also true for sweaters and other items stored for long periods of time. So, how do you accomplish this?

We have the answer for you!
Reehorst Cleaners now offers Breathable Storage Bags for comforters, blankets and sweaters, all at a nominal charge. If you are really creative, you can probably think up many other uses for these neat bags, too! The bags have a cloth-like panel in them that allows air to circulate throughout the garment. The blanket bags have zippers for easy access and handles for very easy carrying. I can’t think of any reason you shouldn’t have several of these in your home!

Just ask the Customer Service person at the store, or drop a note in your Pick-up and Delivery bag asking to have your  comforters and blankets returned in the wonderful Breathable Bags. Your comforters will thank you!

You can also purchase the bags for the items you already have at home!  We also have sizes for sweaters - we'll talk about that next month.

Focus on 'Time For A Change'

Daylight Savings Time is being changed this year to the second Sunday of March.  It's time to change more than just your clocks.  Batteries need changing also:

 Smoke detector

  Flashlights and radios

Medical supplies like hearing aids and glucometers

  Check your digital camera

Check rechargeable batteries - they eventually wear out.

Ask the Experts

Q. Is the Household Sale still on??

A. Yes, the annual Household Sale is running through the end of March.  Since Punxsutawney Phil didn't see his shadow thereby guaranteeing an early Spring, now is the perfect time to have the draperies cleaned.  The winter bedding can be cleaned and put away because, of course, the Cleveland area won't see any more snow!
