Focus on Holiday Happenings From the Christmas Tree lighting ceremony in downtown Cleveland, to holiday movies at your local cinema, the Cleveland area will come alive with the sights and sounds of the season. Enjoy "A Christmas Carol" at the Playhouse Theatre, Holiday Lights at Blossom Music Center, the Gingerbread Dreams at the Cleveland Botanical Gardens, and all the decorations at our area Malls and outdoor shopping centers. Enjoy this time of year with family and friends. Ask the Experts Q. Cooking for the Holidays usually puts gravy or eggnog stains on my tablecloth. Any ideas for a do-it-myself cleaning? A. First, blot the stain with cold water and a mild detergent. Rinse. If the stain remains, take a small amount of powder detergent and mix with about one ounce of regular household ammonia (the non-sudsing type) to form a paste and apply to the stained area. Let stand for five to ten minutes, then launder as usual. This procedure should not be used on silk or wool garments. For silk or wool, use a mild detergent and rinse thoroughly. Remember to test for colorfastness prior to treatment, or just bring the tablecloth in to one of our 4 convenient locations for cleaning!
