Are You Smothering Your Sweaters?
Last month we told you about our new breathable bags for comforter and blanket storage. You’ve listened and obviously are concerned about the comfort and care of your comforters, because so many of you are taking them home in one of our new breathable bags. Your comforters and blankets are clean, comfortable and happy. You are happy because they are now so easy to carry and store safely. And we are happy because we are able to provide a new service to help you care for your special bedding linens.
Now it’s time to think about your sweaters. Soon you will be storing all of your winter sweaters away for the summer. If you choose not to store them with us for the season, we can provide the same safe, clean and secure environment for your sweaters at home. They need to breathe to stay fresh, also. The cloth-like panel allows air to circulate throughout the garment, maintaining relative humidity and releasing air-borne contaminates. Storing sweaters in the bags also makes organizing your closet or drawers a much easier task. The bags keep each item separate, but visible.
Focus on Spring TrainingThe Cleveland Indians are back at their Spring Training camp in Winter Haven, Florida. And we're all thinking about needing Spring Training in order to do Spring Cleaning. Now's the time to open the draperies and let the sun shine in. And then you notice that the windows need washed inside. But before you can wash the windows, you notice that the leaves need to be cleaned from the flower beds. Hmm.....maybe you should trim the bushes since you're outside anyway. And the OUTSIDE of the windows need washed. And since you're going to have the water to wash the windows, the car could use a bath. No wonder we're tired at the end of the day. But we'll save you some work: we'll Spring Clean your winter wardrobe and even store it for you until you need it in the Fall. Just stop by one of our four convenient neighborhood locations, or call 440.777.1400 to arrange for our free pick-up and delivery service.
Ask the ExpertsQ. I wear my rainwear year-round and am not
sure how I should clean it. Does it need cleaning since it's waterproof? A. Rainwear has become a staple of American sportswear. Before selecting a raincoat, it is important to examine the fabric content to see if it will serve your wardrobe needs. Raincoats today are made of many different types of fabric and often have been treated with special water-repellent finishes. The greatest concern affecting rainwear is that people wait too long before cleaning, thinking the water repellent finishes will prevent soiling. Dirt is more likely to become embedded into the fabric, making treatment more difficult. We will often pretreat rainwear before commencing the cleaning process to prevent stains and soil from becoming set. Also, as rainwear ages, its water-repellent finishes may break down. We have special procedures for re-treating rainwear that has lost its finish. Be sure to ask to have it treated with a water repellant when you take the coat in. Finally, to extend the life of your rainwear, never store it while wet.
